Stadl an der Mur is the perfect holiday destination in any of the four seasons!

Stadl an der Mur (890m, circa 1,000 inhabitants) is located near the intersection of the three Austrian states of Styria, Salzburgerland and Carinthia. This region on the southern side of the Alps is known for its high amount of sunshine throughout the year. Stadl an der Mur is situated on the river Mur, which meanders through a beautiful valley home to numerous picturesque Austrian-style villages among green pastures.

The village Stadl itself has several restaurants and cafes where you can enjoy some drinks or a bite to eat. There is a fresh bakery, supermarket, flower shop, tool shop and gas station.


Stadl an der Mur and surroundings have loads to offer come winter or summer. For instance, the impressive Hohe Tauern National Park with extensive hiking trails and (mountain) bike trails. You can go wild-water rafting on the Mur or how about cycling to Tamsweg or Murau and taking the old local steam train on the way back. During the winter season, people are attracted to the popular ski areas of nearby Kreischberg and Turracher Höhe.
